The new English commentary discusses the two directly applicable EU regulations and hence the central provisions of European divorce law:

- the so-called Rome III Regulation implementing enhanced cooperation in the area of legal separation and divorce
- the so-called Brussels IIa Regulation on the recognition and envorcement of judgments in matrimonial matters as well as matters of parental responsibility (Council Regulation (EC) No 2201/2003)

The commentary is absolutely up-to-date and deals with recent court decisions (for example ECJ dated December 20, 2017 and Higher Regional Court of Munich on the recognition of Sharia divorces).
